  • If you are a heavier side sleeper, go for a mattress whose firmness is around 7, not more than that.
• Pressure Relief
  • a good mattress for side sleepers would be one that does not let the pressure build on shoulders and hips as body weight is concentrated on this point while sleeping on the side.
• Support
  • Select a mattress that also does not let you sink in, and has enough support along with the firmness

Pressure Relief

While sleeping on my sides, I did not feel any pressure buildup on my shoulders and hip and there was not a bit of discomfort. The 2″ and 1″ foam above the pocketed coil does the job very well.

Even if you are a heavyweight person, you won’t feel any pressure as the pressure relief and firmness of this mattress is really good.

This is the best thing I liked about this mattress is that it can accommodate any body weight person to 300 lbs, if you are over that, you can go for Helix Plus which is designed for big and tall sleepers.

Edge Support

If I talk about the edge support, while sitting on the mattress I felt the edge support was great and while lying on the edge, the support was very good.

But if you are a heavyweight person, you may feel a bit of discomfort while lying on the edge.

To be honest, I do not think there is anyone who is a side sleeper and should not buy this mattress, it has everything you need in a mattress for side sleepers.

The mattress is medium soft to medium firm, this is what I felt sleeping on this mattress. I would recommend this mattress to someone who is a side sleeper and combination sleeper, back, but if you are a heavy side sleeper, then you can avoid this mattress.

I didn’t feel any pressure on my shoulders and hips, however, if you are a heavy side sleeper, you may feel a bit discomfort.

Body Weight

Both the models are ideal for all body weights, but if you are over 300 lbs, I would recommend you to go for the Hybrid version as it’ll provide better support at the edges.

The edge support of this mattress is impressive, while sitting and while lying on the bed, it was pretty decent.

This mattress is very firm, and it’s hard to get a mattress this firm with good quality. This mattress is 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale which is soft.

Although all sleeper types can sleep on this mattress, side sleepers will enjoy sleeping on it the most.

While sleeping sideways, my sleeping experience was great, A side sleeper requires a soft to medium firm mattress, and this does the job very well.

Pressure Relief

I did not find any pressure build-up in my shoulders and hips while sleeping sideways. The pressure relief is excellent for this mattress.

Maybe this is because it has a unique gel flex grid which is better than memory foam, also the cooling was incredible.

Body Weight

Again, this mattress does the job very well for all body-weight people.

However, if you are above 300 lbs, I would recommend you check the Purple hybrid.

Edge Support

Frankly speaking, I did not like the edge support of this mattress, I’m not saying it was bad, I would say edge support is average.

However, the motion isolation and bounce of this mattress are excellent, if you are a couple, you will like it for sure.

I’m saying this mattress is for heavy sleepers but it does not mean a lightweight side sleeper will not be comfortable, a lightweight sleeper will also enjoy the mattress.

I feel the mattress is medium soft to medium firm and on the firmness scale it is 6 out of 10, which is good for all sleep types, but is it a good king mattress for side sleepers?

After spending 4 nights on this mattress, I can say it will be a good option for side sleepers, I did not feel pressure on my shoulders and hips which is quite impressive as this is just under $500.
